My 3-year-old loves it! October 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My 3-year-old son had a Fisher Price FP3 player that he loved. After about 8 months, it just stopped working. I saw the Sansa shaker for a much lower price and if he wants to play it out loud for eveyone to hear, he just unplugs his headphones - no buying speakers to go along with it! We've had it for about 5 weeks now and so far, it's been great - although the whole "shaker" part of it does not seem to work. He has to twist the end to change the song. Shaking it does nothing.
Good value, good player October 8, 2008 Overall, I'm happy with this MP3 player. The only issues we have had are that yes, the headphones are too big for my daughter's ears (but this isn't that big of a deal, as she rarely uses headphones anyway), and the MP3 format problem. I was about to be upset about this...I didn't realize just how many of our songs were in WMA format. But I found a free program online that you can download that converts files. It's quick and easy to use. It's called Switch Sound File Converter. Since I figured that out, no problems. Is it a pain in the butt? Yes. But this thing was cheap, and I'm not paying big bucks for a more streamlined MP3 player that might end up getting broken or lost. Overall, worth the money.
Didn't last long, only plays mp3s, could be more user friendly October 5, 2008 Got this for my daughters 7th birthday. It was pretty fun, but several negatives. --Lasted under two weeks, no damage. turns on but will not play
--Only plays music in MP3 format. this was a problem for me because I have some of my music and Free Audio books from the library are in WMA format.
-- You have to hold the play button while you shake it to change songs. Sometimes this doesnt work out and just puts the music on pause.
Dont let this scare you away from SanDisk players however, I have a Sansa Clip that I love (better than my Ipod)!
Great little piece of gear! October 2, 2008 My 9-year-old daughter saved up her allowance, and after several weeks of researching and pondering printed-out photos, she settled on and ordered this little MP3 player. It's fantastic. Easy to work, and smaller than I expected. It fits easily in her bookbag, so she can listen to it when waiting in the carpool lane after school. The built-in speaker is a HUGE plus, and has pretty good sound, really, for such a little thing ... definitely better than my laptop speaker, which is what I was expecting.
great! September 30, 2008 I purchased 2 of these for Christmas presents, and decided to buy a third for myself. Even though this product comes across as a child's MP3 player, as an adult, I love it. I love that it has a made in speaker, and is very prortable, as I tend to have sensitive ears, and any type of headphones/earbuds give me punding headaches. This is the perfect solution for me. I have not had any problems with all 3 of the ones I have bought with the end battery cap falling off when you skip to a next song. The end is very secure.
