3 out of 5 stars Static   September 30, 2008
I try this the first day on a weekend all day test it and I got some loud static sounds on certain points like at traffic lights and going through woody aras. But when going through the city and busy area it work find with a littel static. This is my second transmitter I try the others I bought and return because of the static. I say all transmitter have the same situation. It depends where you drive to and you will get a clear or static sound. But this one did better then the first two I had. But I really recommend for you buy a bult in radio with usb ipod player connection to get the perfect sounds with no static cause is direct. For me I'm just buying this product for temporary use until I invest on a ipod car stereo.

5 out of 5 stars High quality Audio, Powerful transmitter, Flexible!   September 3, 2008

I have used the AFT-100 extensively, across several cars and MP3 players with great success. It is very versatile and can be tuned to any FM frequency on a car radio. This is a very important feature that ensures that it can be tuned to an unused frequency to avoid interference and crosstalk. Once tuned, there are programmable memory buttons to remember the frequency and one does not have to hunt for the frequency all over again.

The audio quality is head and shoulders above what is available from most MP3 accessory manufacturers - and it works seamlessly with ANY audio device that has a 3.5mm headphone or line-out socket.

*** UPDATED ON 17 Nov 2008 ***

After many months of problem-free usage, last week the transmitter died on me ... it kept switching off automatically every 30 seconds - no matter what input device I used! I did some research on the Web and also read through all the Amazon reviews to learn that I was not alone in this experience. However, I was not ready to give up ... as it was already out of warranty, I went ahead and opened it up. Another Amazon reviewer has mentioned how he found the auto switchoff circuit and bypassed it - so I was planning to try and see if that was a possibility - but forget it - there is no way I could figure that one out!

HOWEVER - there is good news, I discovered that one of the audio input leads from the 3.5 mm jack which is soldered to the main circuit board had broken ... so I went ahead and soldered the wire back with 15 watt / fine tip soldering iron and GUESS WHAT! IT'S WORKING FINE AGAIN!

While closing the case I discovered that the audio input cable can turn freely if it is twist around - so basically the cable had got twisted and ultmately broke off the circuit board after many months of winding / unwinding the cable before / after use. So I solved that problem with a drop of Super Glue on the point where the input cable enters the device - now the cable is firmly stuck to the case and hopefully will not break again in the near future!

5 out of 5 stars Iriver MP3 Player Transmitter ROCKS!!   August 18, 2008
Have tried a few other units with limited success but this FM transmitter works great! Highly recommend!!!!

4 out of 5 stars Works well but touchy...   August 11, 2008
Picking a clear frequency and having a solid connection to your cigarette light jack is critical. Also the volume level of your MP3 player can have a HUGE effect on the level of distorion during playback..keep it somewere on the mid-range. My set up seemed to work better when the MP3 player was separated from the transmitter unit by a foot or so. Once everything is adjusted properly, the sound was pretty good, certainly better than the casette player adaptor I had been using previously.

5 out of 5 stars Great love it   August 6, 2008
i have used this product for 2 years now and it's working smoothly. Music quality is great and i would love to buy more for my second car.
