The Zune Is The Only One November 3, 2008 I have had my zune for a year and I have to say; I Am Impressed. I work in an extremely dusty enviroment and the zune is the best. I have done the 80gb hard drive swap and can store all my fave clips, movies, and library of music. I never got used to the squircle of the zune 80 and have always loved the 30s build, feel, and user interface. Nothing compares with a zune with the 3.0 firmware. Nothing. Absolutely the BEST hard drive based personel media player out there.
Excellent November 2, 2008 When there was a problem with the Brown Zune the seller promised to refund my money. I got a confirmation from Amazon that I would be refunded. Thanks, Charles
Great product! October 30, 2008 This red Zune was actually a sort of coral color. It has a sort of pink tint, so if you don't like pink, beware. That wasn't a problem for me though. The Zune had been unopened, so it came with the necessary cords and cables, as well as a set of earphones.
DOES NOT CHARGE October 26, 2008 THIS PRODUCT HAS NOT WORKED CORRECTLY SINCE I BOUGHT IT; I have been getting the runaround with Microsoft repair for 3 months. I would save yourself a head ache and buy an IPOD.
Don't do it October 23, 2008 Think again before you buy a Zune. Before you do, go look in any store and see how few accessories there are for it compared to Ipods and other players. If you want to plug it into a stereo or receiver, the only way to do it is with the universal MP3 jack. Very few manufactuers have cradles compatible with the Zune. Other than very few accessories and compatible products available, the player itself is all right.
The biggest problem is with the Zune software. The word "Zune" must be latin for "bug" because the software has a lot of them. You would think that with it being a Microsoft product, they could come up wiht a good support software or at least build on the (very good) Windows Media Player. It didn't happen. They make you use the Zune software, which is designed to entice you to buy stuff from their very limited selection of music, but not much else. I have a good-sized collection of songs and I subscribe to several podcasts. The Zune software on my XP machine shuts down or encounters a problem and has to rebuild the database typically about every two weeks. When that happens, you have to go in and resubscribe to your podcasts and reset your sync options. Sometimes you have to go to the esoteric help and Windows Update sites to manually download and install patches. Sometimes you have to run the same patch more than once. Their latest issue is a problem with the "Windows.NET framework", whatever that is.
I own two 30GB Zunes. I bought one for myself and one for my wife at about the same time. When I finally get fed up with them and throw them out of the car window, I will buy Sansas or Ipods. The Sansas will sync with Windows Media Player.
