You can't replace the battery in the Fuze November 4, 2008 6 out of 17 found this review helpful
I was all set to buy this item until I read a post saying that the battery could not be replaced. Well, you read a lot of things on the 'net that aren't exactly right, so I wrote to SansDisk & asked them.
Here is the reply I received: "SanDisk Response: (11/03/2008 05:34) . . . The battery of the Sansa Fuze cannot be replaced. Please be informed that the battery life of your Sansa Fuze can last upto years. . . . "
The best rechargable batteries around do wear out eventually. Then I just toss a $75 player into the trash?? No way.
Great little gadget November 2, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this a few weeks ago and I'm very happy with it. It is small, lightweight and easily upgradeable. The Fuze's memory is flash-based so it uses less power than a device with moving internal parts. I like that the Fuze works with Windows Media Player right out of the box and without installing any additional software. I popped in a separate 8 gb micro SD card to bring this device up to a useable 15 gigs of storage. I now have more than 175 music CDs stored to this player (ripped in WMA format, 128 kbps) and I still have about 6 gb of space remaining.
I haven't yet experimented with creating playlists in Windows Media Player. I'm hoping that playlists will help overcome my one complaint with this device (and to be fair, all MP3 players) that it can't play an entire album and then randomly start another album. I like hearing albums from beginning to end. This player can, however, randomly shuffle from all songs stored on the device, or from all songs by a selected artist, or from all songs within a particular genre. It can also play all albums stored in the memory but only in alphabetical order by album title.
The FM radio receiver works surprisingly well. I haven't used the audio recorder or the video player features yet.
I'm happy! November 2, 2008 Good battery life. Good radio. Small size means that it can go everywhere. I highly recommend.
Sanas Fuze 8gb MP-3 Player October 31, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
An excellent value. Has good storage capacity. I've installed 31 albums, mostly classical music and it's only about half full. Downloading is very easy. I bought one for a friend and with a few key strokes was able to load all of my music from my computer into the new player. Go to Sansa's website for complete info on how to ues it. The info that comes with it is minimal. All in all I'm very satisfied.
bad player October 31, 2008 0 out of 6 found this review helpful
the idea of the player is fantastic, but apparently too many of them are defective.
the player froze within 10 minutes of turning it on... It only came out when the battery died. Also it is not possible to make a Podcast directory and only play those.
