Great portable media player with great battery lifeAugust 24, 2010 cutefroggie I bought this about 8 months ago and have loved it ever since. It has great sound, I like the new design - it is easy to use, the only drawback is the headset insert is now at the bottom (stupid) and can no longer be used with my old portable speakers, since they are made for Sansa Sandisk, but require both the axillary cord be plugged in AND it be docked at the same time. The dial and menu are easy to use and the manuel can be easily pulled up online if there are any questions. It has more than enough memory and I like that I can add more when needed with a mini SC card. I have vidoe, picture and music on mine. I also like that the Sandisks play radio as well (not a feature often found on MP3 players, but one that I enjoy). I love mine and would recommend it again for anybody
Not intuitiveAugust 19, 2010 Eartley L. West Jr. This mp3 player doesn't remember what it was playing when you shut it off. It mixes up the data information and displays the wrong info for songs. It's frustrating to have to start all over every time you turn it on.
Solid Little Player.August 15, 2010 N. Alston(NY, USA.) It's been a little while, now, since I've had this player, and I have nothing but praise for it. It has been 'rock solid' since day one, and has proved to be one of the best purchases I have ever made. I previously had a 30Gig Ipod, which went belly-up on me, and I desperately needed a replacement. Not wishing to go with an Ipod again - what with the many syncing problems that were encountered with it - I sought for something different. I tried out quite a few offerings from different manufacturers, but they had all disappointed me, in some way or another. Then I learned about the Sansa line - and I am so glad that I did.
I had initially bought the Sansa Fuze for myself, and then purchased this Sansa View for my wife. We had not really considered watching videos on it, and the main reason that I got her the 'View' was because of the fact that it was about the same price that I paid for the 'Fuze', with separately bought 8Gig media card. To be honest, we had thought that the screen size of the 'View' might be too small to watch videos on it. That is, until we tried it. It wasn't bad at all and, in fact, my wife always had some movies on it to take to her night job.
I find that the sound quality of this unit is great, leaving me with no reservations about it. Again, it is a nice, solid little player that you will have no regrets about purchasing - if you're in the market for such a unit.
SANSA VIEW 16GB/8GBAugust 13, 2010 Ernest L. Jones(Canton, GA) This product is three plus years old. The propblem is the firmware. Slow or delay respose to functions. Last update 11-2008. The lastest Sansa MP3 players have improved firmware.

Maybe everyone elses is great but mine has been nothing but a headache. First, let me tell you the great things...its beautiful, easy to use, you can delete right from the player, you can hook it up to any computer, you can add a micro SD card. The bad... it freezes up CONSTANTLY, each time I try to add more music it erases everything first and then I have to add it all over again. This MP3 has been a great lesson in the value of backing up your music. I have to reset it everytime I unplug it from my car or the AWESOME Altec Lansing speaker player thing I found for it. If I could go back I would not buy it again because I get so frustrated when things do not work properly. If it did not freeze up all the time it would the best MP3 player I have bought (my other little Sony Walkman was great, I just bought one too small and my Ipod I liked but hated its size and that I could not use it at any computer.)
