 Doesn't live up to how Creative says it will. September 1, 2010

The Creative Centrale software to manage your transfer music and create playlists is terrible. I would recommend using the PC to move the music and create playlists. The keyboard function is lame. Each key has 7 options like number 1 has a,b,c,A,B,C,1 so you have a lot of keying to create a file name. The wireless lan access to say Yahoo messenger doesn't work at all. It will connect to the lan, but you will never connect to Yahoo messenger because the device has no browser. I was so frustrated using the Creative Centrale software that I called technical support in ASIA long distance, their own people who work for Creative and bought this same player said it was lame at best. The player does have a good sound thru the headphones and battery life is not bad. The rest is Hype at best. Should retail for no more that $60.

I purchased the X-FI2 when I thought my Creative Zen Vision:M was dying. Fortunately, it didn't. It is still the best. Everytime I think about the X-FIs, I get so mad I could spit. How can you improve on perfection? You can't and this is the classic example of how something good can be redesigned poorly. Bad software, and bad physical design. I sent the FI2 back, not Napster compatible. I have 3000+ Napster tunes. After using the Vision:M, I found it difficult to make any sense out the design direction. The new one is small and cute, but thats it. I just hope there is a better model before my M expires.

I like the way this little gem operates..easy to carry and use great sound quality well package. Only problem is the documentation that comes with it. I wish it was better and explained things better. Given these the price was right and who needs Ipod prices when you can have the this product at a substantial savings. I also like the memory card use. I would recomend this to a friend..in fact I have.

I've only used this as an mp3 player, this is the 5th one I've bought. When friends see how well it works they want one. I'll probably buy more. The 8 gig is plenty capacity for my needs.

I've had this device for about a month. The sound is excellent, all they brag about and more, and the headphones that come with are surprisingly good-quality also. Radio reception is also superb. It holds a lot and the battery lasts fairly well. My only problem so far is that it freezes up for no apparent reason--usually after I've done something apparently innocuous like pressed the button for the next track. It resets fine when you stick a paperclip into the reset button, but makes me a little nervous. Still, on the whole, exactly what I wanted.
