The remote needed a new battery and is very weak January 28, 2008 I haven't had any trouble with the device but I did have to place it on top of my television so the remote would work. I am not sure how old the packaged battery was but I had to buy a new one for it to work and the signal strength is very weak. I have to be fairly close.
Works great January 14, 2008 The Homedock works great, just as advertised, and setup is easy and fast. I am very pleased.
I have the 30GB Zune but should have gotten the 80GB, which offers component video out and so you get better resolution.
Be aware that the white-red-yellow (A/V) wire plugs are close together and fit just fine into the back of your receiver. However, you cannot peel away the yellow video wire away from the audio wires to have it go straight to your TV while the audio wires go to your receiver. You're best to plug audio and video into your receiver inputs and then output the video from the reciever to your TV, which requires one additional wire. Alternatively, you can add an extension to the Homedock video to reach your TV.
Best Zune dock I have found! December 6, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
With separate connections for Video & Audio (L+R), I connected this unit directly to an input on my HDTV. As this TV is already connected to my Stereo System, I just had to plug it in to an AC outlet and dock my Zune. The sound is excellent and the picture is what would be expected given the output resolution of the Zune. Overall, I am extreemly satisfied with the DLO HomeDock for Zune and would recommend it to anyone looking to connect a Zune to their TV/Stereo system. Edit: This dock has been working perfectly the past 5 months. One thing that I have noticed, I bought a skin and a case for my Zune, and I can still dock the Zune when it is in the case!!! This is very convenient, since I like to be able to grab my Zune and go, and it's already in the case. When I looked at the Microsoft dock, I don't think there is enough clearance to keep the Zune in it's case in the dock. But it's not a problem for the DLO dock, as the Zune is raised up and there is plenty of room around it for a case. Overall, still very happy with this purchase.
Great product. July 12, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Easy setup, instantly recognized by comp and zune software. Handy and small. Love having a remote. Wish they would have done power through usb port instead of having 2 cords but that would have ruined it for the TV users so I understand. Cons: No on board speakers but I guess for the size they would have been crappy anyway so over all a very good product.
Extremely bad sound transmit ion July 5, 2007 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
The Sound is horrible. I thought that the problem was with the speakers. I bought a new pair of jbl. The sound didn't improve, so I taught that the problem was with the zune, but it was weird because when I was using the headphones the sound of the zune was amazing. So I tried to connect directly the zune to the JBL speakers and the sound was incredible crisp. The only reason I'm giving this crappy dock 2 stars it is because I can still use the remote control otherwise the $65 were gone derectly to the garbage.
