The nüvi 270 is built with a high-sensitivity WAAS-enabled GPS receiver for extreme accuracy, as well as an SD card slot for storing your media and additional navigation tools, and a USB interface for loading data. All this is wrapped up in a package that measures 3.8 x 2.8 x .8 inches (W x H x D) and weighs just 5.2 ounces. The nüvi 270's 3.5-inch (diagonal) display is touchscreen-enabled, making it a cinch to control the device with your fingertips. Bought this for my daughter, she thought it was cute, but did not have the add on features she would of liked, so she returned it for one that suited her geek nature.

I bought this from Amazon as a Christmas present for my wife. When we first turned it on, roads around our neighborhood were missing. Some of these roads have existed for at least 5 to 6 years. We thought that when we registered it through Garmin's website, we would be offered a map update that would correct this. The only map we were offered was for Europe. Since we live in Tennessee, this didn't help the situation. These roads are our primary way in and out of the neighborhood. So, every trip starts by sending us in the opposite direction. When I go the way that I know, it tells me to make a U-turn.
We went to Sheffield Alabama last Saturday and used it to find the restaurant that we were going to. When we were nearly there, it told us to turn right and then stated that we were arriving at the destination on the right. The restaurant was nowhere to be found. We had to call the restaurant to find out where they were. Turns out that we needed to turn left instead of right and the location was about a mile on the right. On the trip to Sheffield, I looked at the display while driving on US Hwy 43 and noticed that it looked like I was driving through a field instead of on the road.

After doing many hours of research on which GPS to buy my father for Christmas, I finally came across this one. It was perfect for him because he and my mother go to Europe at least one time a year and they would be able to use this GPS while travelling. I went to Best Buy and Circuit City to do some pricing and they both were asking for over $300 for this product. I decided to check out Amazon and they had it for $150 (brand new). I didn't even hestiate to place my order. It was at my house within 4 days and in perfect condition. When my dad opened up his present on Christmas Eve and saw his GPS, he was so happy. I would definetly recommend this product and website to anyone who is looking for a great gps at an incredible price.
