 Excellent! November 21, 2008
This is a great product! I've owned this for 8 months now, and never had any finicky problems with it. It recharges my Zune as I listen to music, and it fits both my Zunes -the first generation larger one, and my newer Zune II which is thinner and smaller. It also comes with an adapter that lets me hook it up to any MP3 with a speaker jack. Great speakers. Really like the looks, also.

I purchased this early this year and I know it was about $100 -- this price is ridiculous! Not worth this price but decent for $50-$100...

I bought one of these for about $50 2 years or so ago to go with my zune 30gb. Not a bad setup for $50. I think they were originally around $100. In fact if you still look around, you can still find them for $50 + shipping (and more often between $50-$100).
Also note that most of the reviews for this item are old and made before this third party seller started selling them for an outrageous $330!
So, while these are nice zune speakers, they were discontinued a couple years ago (so who knows if altec will give warranty support). Also, at the current price of $330, you're getting ripped off. In fact the getting ripped off part is so bad: it's as if after running you over, they back up to run you over again!
I also don't know if they work with all the newer zunes. These were discontinued when there was only the 30gb zune.

I own one of these devices already, and have been happy with it, especially given the very reasonable price I paid for it. Altec Lansing appears to have discontinued it, though, and the prices for the remaining stock seem to be absurdly high.
You should consider buying Kicker ZK500 Zune Speaker Dock (Black), Altec Lansing inMotion iM414 Portable Audio System for Zune, or iHome Dual Alarm Clock with Speaker Dock for Zune (Black) instead. All of these items are reasonably priced.

In October 07 I purchased 3 of these new for, are you ready, $49 each! The 30 GB Zunes were $88 and of course I got 3 also. BTW they all work beautifully and have had no problem whatsoever. Thanks to Microsoft for having built the Zunes with forward capability (ie Firmware updates) in mind
