Sent this item to my folks who each have the classic 80. They were happy to get the twin pack of ipod sleeves and say they fit and work just dandy.

It's exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something stylish without being neon colored. It keeps my iPod scratch-free and it repels dust (and pet hair) for the most part. Plus, should I get tired of the designed case, I have a solid colored one to switch to.
