Amazon.com Product Description An ideal unit for iPod listeners on the go, the iLive IC2807BLK speaker system is compact and easy to carry, with a diminutive housing that measures only 9.5 by 1.25 by 5.75 inches (W x H x D) when folded. As a result, you can take the system just about anywhere, from the backyard to the park to the campsite. The unit is equipped with an integrated iPod docking station that supports all iPods with 30-pin dock connectors, including the iPod 3G, iPod 4G (click wheel), iPod photo 4G, iPod video 5G/5.5G, iPod mini, and iPod nano 1G and 2G. More importantly, the unit produces a bigger sound than expected thanks to the front-firing, acoustically calibrated speakers. Simply pop your iPod into the dock and you'll receive crisp, satisfying sound wherever you go. The IC2807BLK offers more than just an iPod dock, however. The system also sports a backlit LCD display with a digital clock and a built-in alarm, so you can wake up to your iPod while traveling. The 3.5 mm auxiliary input, meanwhile, lets you connect other audio players to the speakers, including an iPod shuffle, MP3 player, or portable CD player. Other details include a mini-USB jack for PC communication (includes USB cable); A/V output jacks for connecting an iPod photo or video to a TV; a full-function remote control (includes battery); and a bonus carrying pouch for easy transport. The IC2807BLK, which runs on AC power or four AA batteries (not included), weighs 2.5 pounds and is backed by a 90-day warranty. What's in the Box IC2807BLK speaker system, remote control, remote battery, USB cable, carrying pouch, user's manual.

Best portable ipod speakers November 16, 2008 These are GREAT. I bought this as a gift for my husband, and he gets a lot of use out of them at the office. We also use them at the pool, which says a lot, because usually portable speakers are difficult to hear outside. I have listened to a few other portable speakers for the ipod, and these are the best I have heard for quality and volume. (Mind you, it's not exactly surround sound, but they are tiny, portable speakers!)
good, but prob. w/ volume April 3, 2008 i won this item at a chinese auction and was very pleased except i cannot get the volume lower than max-when i lower it, its still sounds at max. i can't return it anyway, so i guess ill just keep it-maybe ill be able to figure out how to fix it. other than that, great product, smart idea, useful...
Dreadful sound quality February 21, 2008 I ordered this because I wanted truly portable speakers, ie something compact enough to thrown in an overnight bag, with a remote, that would work with the iPod Touch and the option to run off batteries. I'm not interested in the alarm feature which seems to be the main complaint from other reviewers here. On the plus side, the device does work with the Touch, and the remote navigates the Touch's menus ok (unlike e.g. the Logitech Pure-Fi device), with only one problem, it can't get past the "thumb-swipe" screen. It does however have an off/on button that gets round this, lest you might have to actually leave the sofa! However, the sound quality is just so awful that I returned it. It's not so much that it's tinny as somehow it just sounds horrible, it is by far the worst sound quality of any of the portables that I've tried so far, including my old $10 "Cube Travel Speakers" Bottom line - avoid this product.
a work-around for the alarm problem January 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Yes, it's true, this alarm will blast you out of the room. However, there is a workaround. If you want to wake to something on your ipod, you can leave the unit on (if it is plugged in with the AC adapter), set the volume where you want it and then set the alarm on your ipod and place it back onto the unit. (If you use your ipod controls to turn off the ipod and don't touch the unit, the unit will stay on and simply play again once the ipod comes on.)
I think the best thing about this unit is the remote. It is fully-featured.
The alarm will give you a heart attack! January 2, 2008 Most features on this are good, speakers, portability, remote control... but the alarm is unusable, no matter what I do the volume is immediately LOUD! It will scare you and your neighborhood and I find myself frantically trying to turn it off within seconds. There was nothing gentle about the alarm even when using my ipod. If you are looking for a nice alarm clock look elsewhere!
