Horrible product, does not work at all. Trashed it after a week of aggravation December 3, 2008 I purchased this item to work with my iPod Touch, and I was nothing but disappointed with the performance of this device. Here are a few reasons why:
- Very difficult to install. The extension arm was almost impossible to attach to the device. - Even on a clear frequency, the static was loud. In between tracks, it got so ridiculously loud that I needed to turn the volume all the way down and turn it back up again when the next track started. Even my 2-yr old son covered his ears, it was that bad. - There was a time-lag when changing tracks, the device takes a few seconds to start the next track. Not a big deal, except that I had to tolerate the loud static till the next track started.
It seems to be a cheap product that is poorly made and definitely not worth the price tag. I subsequently purchased a cheaper device from a local store, and I couldn't be happier.
Great unit December 2, 2008 Very good product. Works great. Will block out fairly strong radio stations. In this location, I need to use the upper most frequencies - still occasionally I'll hear a little static between songs, but usually it's hardly noticeable. I LOVE the remote control feature - extremely helpful when you are driving!! Would definitely recommend. Thinking of buying one for our other vehicle. The only trouble I've had was that the arm is VERY hard to attach. Luckily I had one from a previous purchase that I was able to attach quite easily.
Decent FM Transmitter..... November 12, 2008 Works for the I-Phone 3G
Pros: Side arms securing the device Remote Control USB port and input jack (for other devices)
Cons: Static from incoming FM Station (not strong enough output or strong station in Southern California) Message stating that it is not compatible. Flexible arm attachment hard to attach to device (warning on box stating you must use force) An incoming phones call causes a huge distortion.
Overall, it isn't bad, but I had to make some adjustments like using my headphones as an antennae (putting my earphone across my visor and putting the jack in (not all the way plugged in)) to get a clearer and stronger reception. It is convenient since Southern California has the hands-free law, but if you live in a city with many radio stations, I would not recommend this device. However, if you want to secure your I-Phone for navigation purposes, it is pretty good. Hope this helps some of you decide whether to purchase or not.
Great iPhone FM transmitter / charger / remote October 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
4.5 stars. Excellent sound quality - as good as if it was plugged directly into my car stereo. No GSM buzz (I've used other brands with my iPhone and had to stop using them because of the buzz) Great way to listen to podcasts and charge my iPhone at the same time using just using the 1 cigarette lighter. (I need to have my iPhone charging whenever I'm in my car because the battery life on the iPhone leaves a lot to be desired)
