as good as it gets March 9, 2010 Gift Recipient (Colorado) So glad I bought this item , so easy to load , and so easy to use , bigger than most mp3 players , but I like the size. Sounds better than previous player , good picture quality , have not tried the video yet . Really like the option of adding memory card to unit .
flawed design March 6, 2010 jjob As an mp3 player, the MX is okay except it keeps the screen on using up battery life.
In addition, after two months white lines started appearing on the screen. Support is weak on site and the firmware upgrade does not recognize my mz. We will see how Creative responds to my e-mail.
Poor customer Service March 4, 2010 N. J. Kappos 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Creative Zen produces great products.....or at least they seem great until they break. These products have a poor shelf life and even poorer customer service past the first two months. Support is a toll number which sucks. Fixing a unit that is out of warranty is = the cost of buying a new one, perhaps more expensive than finding a deal on one.
Never again.
Subscription Music Services March 2, 2010 R. Nenni (Orinda, CA, US) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Please be aware that the MX does not support subscription music services such as Rhapsody. Very disappointing!
Sweet, Sweet Sound March 2, 2010 The MoonMoth (Southern California) This is the best-sounding MP3 player I own (out of five players including a second generation 16Gb iPod).
It is small, has good to great battery life, excellent earbuds and is expandable via the SD slot. Very few products in this price range are in the same class.
Very easy to add and delete anything since it looks like a standard USB mass-storage device to the operating system. Thus additional software is not required. Perfect for a multiple OS household or office. When I got my ZEN, I just used a file manager to transfer about 14Gb of wrapped albums to the player. After removal from the USB port and turning on the ZEN there was a brief pause while the new files were cataloged. At that point everything was ready for play.
CONS: 1) Cannot use generic AC adapters to charge. Must use true USB port or expensive AC adapter from Creative. 2) Would have preferred hold switch on case rather than software hold that requires three button pushes each time.
4.5 out of 5.0 star rating. Very pleased with purchase.
