Incredible value July 22, 2008 I got the Sansa Clip 4GB because I was flying coast-to-coast and didn't want to suffer through airline "entertainment".
I was looking for: - MP3 player - DRM-free! - small size - 2+GB capacity - standard USB interface - $100 budget
I was NOT looking for: - video (I'm not watching video on a 3" screen) - proprietary interface / docking station
Based on the choices and ratings, I went with the Sandisk Sansa Clip 4GB: - all requirements met - best GB/$ ratio
Having owned this for a couple months, I'm extremely pleased with this unit. In my opinion, Sandisk delivered more than what I paid for: - *great* sound! - responsive firmware updates - FM and recording features - podcast / audiobook support - 600+ high-bitrate extended play MP3s
I am very pleased with my purchase and happily recommend the Sansa Clip 4GB.
A serious Product July 21, 2008
Bought the 4gb sansa clip, when it came out, and I have been using it since. I think it's the best mp3 player of its kind and category, yes better than the shuffle thanks to its screen, radio and mic built-in !!! Better than the creative stone, thanks this time to its better sound quality and its better ergonomy. Sandisk has definetily made a product with a lot of qualities that makes the Clip a must buy player, except if you've also fallen into the hands of the billion dollar Apple marketing.
+ : small with an elegant design and very resistant very good sound quality drag and drop mode while usb conected built in mic radio player (with 10 presets, and possibility of recording)
- : no automatic volume control no search by first letter (when having 200 artists you might want to search by the first letter)
A MUST HAVE July 14, 2008 After reading other positive reviews I decided to buy. Everything you've read is true. This thing sounds amazing. It is hands down the best sounding MP3 player I've owned (Archos, IPOD, Mobiblu, & Zune). I listen to it through a pair of Shure SE530's. While it may seem crazy to drive $500 headphones with an $80 player, let me tell you it is justified. Buy one you'll love it.
Very good deal & features July 14, 2008 I love this little player, it fits just the right amount of music for me, the size and light weight is great. I've got around 600 songs on here. I did have one problem with the disk space not returning to full after I deleted most of my songs, so I had to use the Sansa website forum and format the player. Also, the buttons stick and do not work from time to time, but the problem goes away quickly... feels like a software problem, not a hardware problem.
Very nice and great sound July 11, 2008 I have never had an mp3 type player. I have never tried one. I do use computers and pro digital cameras. Therefore I do understand menus that are good or not. The menus are intuitive and are quite simple. This is good. The sound is great. It charges somewhat slow via usb. This may be normal for the mp3 of any type. The screen cannot be seen whatsoever in sunlight. Not a bit. Huge negative. The earphones are okay. This was [...] dollars at [...] . They have this thru Aug at this price. I do not know if 4 gb is good. I would prefer much more. (above [...] are 59 and c- o- s t co)
