Throw your money in the street instead March 31, 2007 I bought one on clearance for $35. It was great for exactly 92 days, then it died completely. The company that made it is defunct, so there is no warranty or support, (I wasn't expecting that anyway). It worked pretty well for the short time I had it although the sound quality was poor-to-middlin'. I would not recommend anyone buy this at any price.
Go Video Goes Nowhere July 25, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This product worked fine until I went to charge it for the first time after the initial charge. When I plugged it in, there was a spark and the player hasn't worked since. I had a receipt, but the store wouldn't take it back because they didn't stock it anymore. (It obviously was not in resaleable condition either.)
I called Go Video while still under warranty. I have called them several times and they continue to tell me that they will send me an e-mail to take to the store. They have not sent it yet and it has been 2 months. The customer service people have foreign accents. They are friendly, but do not get anything accomplished.
I strongly urge anyone considering this product not to buy! Especially at the price they are trying to sell it on other sites. Don't buy!!
Just Junk April 25, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Zero start for this product. Do not buy, waste of money. Worked for few weeks and stop as soon battery used for 10 mins. So after 10 mins this can be dead any time. Other cons- hangs very frequently, poor quality connector, filmsy buttons, low quality sound quality, poor FM recemtion. Do you want to buy ?
Do not buy this player April 7, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought 2 of these players and the batteries died withing a year. I called the company to get a replacement and they told me that they cannot get them either.
I searched the Internet for a replacement battery. There are none. The ones for iPods are a little too big.
Do Not Buy This! January 21, 2006 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
Do not buy this product. The Rave MP player is a piece of junk. From the moment I opened it I could tell it was of much lesser quality than other MP3 players.
*The light in the unit began to fail immediately. And the light is crucial to read the text. It had a short in it that if I squeezed the case the light would get brighter and come on and stay. But it was always iffy.
*The sound quality is not near the quality of others. My wife has an iAudio player. We hooked my Rave player up to her car stereo with a tape adapter. Hers sounds great. Mine sounds awful. And its amp is so weak you have to turn the volume up all the way to get an audible sound. The sound quality is just not good.
*The included headphones are abismal. Right there you can count on going out and spending another $10.00 on some good earbuds. Just through the included ones out. They are that bad.
*Finally the player just broke. For some unknown reason it just stopped working. It turns on and the screen lights up, but the system never loads. (You can audibly hear the hard drive skipping inside the case). I never dropped it or damaged it, it simply stopped working. Support is next to non-existent. Go to http://www.rave-mp.com and look around. You will quickly find that the website is a joke. Much like any cheap product, support and service are pathetic.
I got this player really cheap at CompUSA. It was only $80.00. It lasted just over 120 days (long enough to void the warranty) and then it quit. Now I will have to buy another, better player. So I saved nothing.
Don't buy this cheap piece of junk.
