Amazon.com Product Description Lightweight and secure enough for vigorous active use, the MDR-Q22LP headphones--part of Sony's w.ear line--feature a comfortable clip-on fit that follows the contour of your ears. Both the turning adjustment and spring action earpiece allow for easy manipulation for a dialed-in fit. The snug fit design is built to withstand exercising, skating, dancing, or other sports. The MDR-Q22LP earcups use an open-air design that lets you hear ambient sound. This ability to hear outside noises is a safety issues as much as a quality of sound issue. With these headphones, you can keep track of car horns, passing bicyclists and barking dogs. These headphones have impressive 30 mm driver units which produce a rich bass sound. Neodymium magnets give the headphones maximum energy at a minimal size and weight. The PET diaphragm keeps distortion to a minimum. Remember that the MDR-Q22LP's clip-on design is hair-friendly and keeps the size of the headphones small. Their tangle-free storage cord is adjustable, making for easy storage in a backpack, briefcase or purse. The headphones come with a 1.5 meter cord, and their straight-shaped plug is tailor-made for active use. What's in the Box Sony MDR-Q22LP headphones, blue and silver interchangeable headphone caps.

Excellent Sound, Great Bass Response October 30, 2008 Until recently I had the Koss ksc75 headphones and thought that while the sound/bass was excellent they kind of made me look like I had princess Leia ears since they stuck out a bit so I decided to try something new but the same type (clip ons). At first I got a Panasonic pair but they sounded like you were listening to music through a tin can as the bass response was terrible no matter how I tried to adjust the music. Then I bought these babies and couldnt be happier. The sound quality is excellent and the bass response is exactly the way it should be, meaning not having to adjust my music to fit the headphones instead of the other way around. I have read in other reviews that you cant expect too much for a "cheap" pair of headphones and I disagree as the sound quality with the Koss and now these are excellent. Lets face it, you arent going to want a bulky pair of "quality" headphones whether you jog or workout but I dont think its unreasonable to look for good sound without sacrificing something in exchange and with these you dont have that problem. I also like the way these fit closer to my ears and have a lower "profile" on the side of my head as they are smaller and stay in place no matter how my head moves. The only thing that takes some getting used to is the asymetric cord but thats easily fixed by putting the cord behind your neck and thats where it stays. As somewhat of an audiophile as well as a practical shopper I highly recommend these headphones.
top tier comfort October 30, 2008 I generally have a very hard time wearing headphones for more than an hour without my ears getting unbearably sore. But I wear these headphones for 20-40 hours/week with no discomfort. The swivel clips are a nice feature. The sound quality is fine for my purposes, and they have been durable for over a year. Great product!
I have owned two pairs, both were great October 28, 2008 These headphones are wonderful! I am right now on my second pair. My originals never broke, but after 3 years of use they became disgusting so I got new headphones. I listen to all genres or rock music with these things and I have no complains.
Pros: 1. Ear clips are extremely comfortable and work perfectly! I could where these things all day. 2. Long lasting. 3. I have played all sorts of music though them. (except modern rap) They make everything sound great. (Right now I am listing to Slipknot in wonderful clarity) 4. I often use them with biking and they do not at all interfere with my helmet. 5. Unlike ear bud head phones, Apple Earbud Headphones (White), they are not even remotely painful and stay on perfectly. 6. I have found that other headphones lose quality when turned up loud, these sound perfect, if not better, when turned up.
Cons: 1. I lost the blue plastic covers quickly. Never even bothered to replace them with the silver ones. 2. A friend of mine complained that they would not stay on while skateboarding. 3. The black pads that go up against your ears will over time, depending on how much you use them, change from black to a dark yellow.
I Love These Headphones October 17, 2008 ok now before anything, if you're expecting $100.00 headphones, these are not it. now saying that, i like my music loud and really i didn't expect it to be loud but i was wrong. now i'm a dj, i use the sony mdr-v700 and for me, those are the best. but back to these headphones, they're loud and i love that and well i live in new york and when i used the mdr-v700 in the train, i got many dirty looks because they were so loud, but these are loud but i don't get dirty looks, so it seems like they're loud but people don't hear them. also, they're comfortable, i've worn them for hours and i forget that they're on. one thing though, the bass is non-existant but i expected that. i'm not a person that expected these headphones to have monsterous bass, so i use an ipod 80gb and the solution i needed to do to get a little bass is set the setting to bass booster and i hear a little bass. another thing, the cord is long, for me that's great because i wear long shirts and i have no problems with that. in short, if you're looking for great headphones at a budget price, stick with these, you won't be dissappointed.
Best headphones I've ever used October 13, 2008 I spend a lot of time on the computer, and I listen to music almost constantly during that time. These headphones are the only ones I've ever used that were both comfortable and high in sound quality. The quality is quite good; good enough for binaural beats. Cord length is fantastic, much longer than other headphones.
They are also very durable. This is my second pair. The first lasted over a year. I don't treat headphones well, and I tend to chew on the cord, so this is important to me.
It's 3.5mm, with no software required. Just plug and play.
The only thing that I wish these headphones had is a volume control. I prefer a physical volume control over the OS volume control.
Overall, I highly recommend these headphones to anyone who spends a lot of time on their computer and wants above average sound quality. Because of the cord length (very long), they're not the best for portable media players. 9.5/10
