Nice while scroll wheel works December 27, 2008 I bought this mouse about 3 months ago as an upgrade to a Logitech nano mouse, mainly because it was slightly smaller when folded for travel, but slightly larger when unfolded for use. I liked the feel of it, but after about 3 months the scroll wheel has completely stopped working, so that there is no "click" and also no movement on the screen. In contrast, my Logitech nano mouse was over a year old (and I've gone back to using it since the Arc mouse broke).
Stylish Mouse December 27, 2008 Pro: - Feels nice in hand. Better than I expected. - Stylish. - Foldable and good for travel.
Cons: - Scroll wheel could be better, but you get used to it quickly.
Microsoft Arc Mouse December 20, 2008 Perfect! Portable! Folds up and turns off...saves your batteries. The best design I have ever seen in a laptop mouse.
A purely defective product at an exorbitant price. December 19, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
What I liked originally about the Arc Mouse was its battery life, and the design of the ergonomic arc that did serve a purpose. After three months of average use, the Scroll wheel broke completely, and the rubberized surface wears off, rendering the product ugly and useless.
The scroll wheel is designed to break, it's only a matter of time. One day yours will stop making the clicking noises you come to expect from it as you scroll, and if you try to use it to scroll, it will do nothing.
I purchased it when there were no reviews, using a big coupon to save on the crazy price, and that was a mistake. Thankfully it has a 3 year warranty, so I can get a replacement from Microsoft that will break just as fast. And I don't know if you've ever been forced to call Microsoft, but it is effectively a death sentence. You can't understand what they're saying (Big surprise there), the product # for the arc mouse doesn't exist (Look it up in their online support... Product NOT found), and they will not move in a quick pace to make your product return easy.
I recommend any similarly featured Logitech mouse over this, that was what I was forced to buy afterward, not to mention in costs 3 times less.
Second Time is the Charm (almost) November 30, 2008 First item defective - batteries too hot to touch after 2 minutes (internal short?). No connectivity to PC. RMA'd and second item better but this time batteries are DEAD. Using own batteries, finally working. Item has nice feel. Back button not too convenient but works. Nice fold up for travel. Buy but beware...
